Arizona vs Washington – College Basketball Odds

Arizona vs Washington – College Basketball Odds Thursday, January 31, 2013 Arizona travels to Washington Thursday, January 31st.  The game is scheduled to tip-off at 9:00 pm est on ESPN. The oddsmakers have made Arizona a 6 point favorite in this tough Pac-12 Conference showdown. Arizona Preview Arizona’s overall record is 17-2, Pac-12 record is 5-2, ATS overall is 9-8, ATS home is 5-4, and ATS away is 3-2. Arizona is having a real good year and they are rated 8th in the nation right now. They have two super impressive wins this year against University of Miami and Florida. If the season ended today, both of those teams would receive number 2 or 3 seeds in the NCAA tournament. Arizona’s two losses where to UCLA at home and conference leading Oregon, on the road. Losing to UCLA did not shock any of the experts, since both of these teams are considered legit final four contenders. Oregon was undefeated in conference play (before losing last night) and they have also beaten UCLA, so maybe losing to them at their place was not as bad as it initially looked; only time will tell. This Arizona team is very talented, but whether they have enough to win it all, is doubtful. What isn’t doubtful is that they have way more talent than Washington, and should easily win this game. But, all conference games are tough, and the ones on the road are especially difficult. Arizona has way too much talent for Washington, and they just need to show up and play their normal game to come away with a victory. This...

New Mexico vs Wyoming – College Basketball Odds

New Mexico vs Wyoming – College Basketball Odds Wednesday, January 30, 2013 New Mexico travels to Wyoming Wednesday January 30th.  The game is scheduled to tip-off at 9:00 pm est and the oddsmakers have made New Mexico a 1 point favorite in this tough Mountain West Conference showdown. New Mexico Preview New Mexico’s overall record is 17-3, Mountain West record is 4-1, ATS overall is 10-8-1, ATS home is 5-5-1, and ATS away is 4-2. New Mexico lost their last game to San Diego State 55-34. Seriously, how the hell do you manage to only score 34 points in a college basketball game? As we have mentioned in other articles, New Mexico just was not ready to play this game emotionally, and their performance proved that point all too well. New Mexico has three real goods wins on their resume this season. They beat Connecticut on the road, they took down Cincinnati at their place, and they also beat UNLV at home. They are lead by Alex Kirk, who is a 7’0”, 250 pound center that averages 11 points and 8 boards a game. Their leading scorer is a kid named Kendall Williams, who is a 6’-4” wing guard that averages 14 points and 4 rebounds a game. Tony Snell is a 6’-7” three man that averages 12 points and 2 rebounds a game. Cameron Bairstow is a 6’-9” power forward that averages 7 points and 5 rebounds a game. Although this team has fairly good size, if you look at their stats, they are not a very good rebounding team which will eventually come back to hurt them...

Kentucky vs Mississippi – College Basketball Free Pick

Kentucky vs Mississippi – College Basketball Free Pick Kentucky travels to Mississippi Tuesday January 29th.  The game is scheduled to tip-off at 9:00 pm est and the oddsmakers have made Mississippi a 3 point favorite. Kentucky Preview Kentucky is having an utterly dreadful year after last year’s NCAA championship season. This game is at Mississippi, and if ever they needed to come away with a win, it is this year, with this team. Kentucky’s overall record is 13-6, SEC record is 4-2, ATS overall is 6-10, ATS home is 4-5, and ATS away is 2-3. Kentucky is not losing because they do not have talent; in fact they have a ton of talent. Nerlens Noel, their 6’-10” power forward is project to be one of the first three players drafted in the NBA this year. Archie Goodwin, their 6’-5” wing guard should also be selected within the first 15 picks. If that was not enough, Willie Cauley Stein, their 7’-0” center is another player that is projected to be a first round draft choice. The truth of the matter is this team has not jelled and it is getting very average point guard play, from Ryan Harrow. Kentucky really does not have any good wins this year that it needs to ensure a NCAA tournament berth. If they do not turn this thing around right now, they are going to have to win the SEC tournament at the end of the year just to get into the NCAA tournament, which is embarrassing. Mississippi Preview Mississippi is 6-0 in SEC conference play and is in first place. Good for them,...

Pittsburgh vs Louisville – College Basketball Free Pick

Pittsburgh vs Louisville – College Basketball Free Pick Pittsburgh travels to Louisville Monday January 28th.  The game is scheduled to tip-off at 7:00 pm est and the oddsmakers have made Louisville a 6-point favorite. Louisville Preview What is going on with this Louisville team? They start the season 16-1 with their lone loss coming to a then undefeated Duke team and eventually reach the top spot in the polls, after Duke loses.  As soon as they reach number one, they immediately lose their next three conference games. Their first loss was to number 6 ranked Syracuse at home. Then they go on the road and lose to Villanova and Georgetown Louisville’s overall record is 16-4, Big East record is 4-3, ATS overall is 10-10, ATS home is 4-6, and ATS away is 4-2. In an earlier article we mentioned that Russ Smith, Louisville’s starting wing guard and leading scorer was a streak shooter, who could go really cold at times. Against Villanova, he went 2 for 13 from the field. Rick Pitino, Louisville’s head coach finally had enough of his erratic play, and did not start him against Georgetown. Louisville has three real good starters that could all end up in the NBA someday. They are Peyton Siva, a 6’-0” pass first point guard, Chane Behanan, a 6’-6” monster that plays power forward, and Gorgui Dieng, a 6’-11” shot blocking center. Losing to Syracuse is nothing to be ashamed of. But, if you want to win the Big East regular season title, you have to protect your home court and not lose on it. Villanova was not expected to...

Michigan Illinois Basketball Odds

Michigan Illinois Basketball Odds This Big Ten match-up between Michigan and Illinois will take place Sunday, January 27th and the oddsmakers have made Michigan a 6.5 point favorite. Michigan Preview Michigan’s overall record is 18-1, Big 10 record is 5-1, ATS overall is 10-6-1, ATS home is 5-4-1, and ATS away is 2-2. Michigan is doing exactly what was expected of them in the preseason. Which was to compete for a Big 10 regular season championship, have good shot at getting into the sweet sixteen, and if things were to fall right for them, maybe even win it all. Michigan’s best player, and maybe the countries best player, is a point guard named Trey Burke. He is 6’-0” tall, and averages 18 points and 7 assist a game. If Michigan does win the NCAA championship this year, it will be because of his sensational play. This team has quite a few other good players also. Tim Hardaway Jr., is a 6’4” senior wing guard that averages 16 points and 5 rebounds a game. Glenn Robinson III is a 6’-6” freshman wing forward that averages 12 points and 6 boards a game. Mitch McGary is their big freshman center, and he is 6’-10” and 250 pounds. He was the nations number 30 rated recruit last year, and he is averaging 6 points and 6 boards a game. They are coached by John Beilein, who is considered one of the best coaches in the country, and more than capable of taking them a long way in this year’s NCAA tournament. Illinois Preview Illinois’s overall record is 15-5, Big 10 record is...
