No. 5 Arizona Cardinals (11-5) at No. 4 Carolina Panthers (7-8-1) – Bank of America Stadium, Charlotte, North Carolina Saturday, January 3, 2015 @ 4:15 PM EST (ESPN) Current Line: Carolina -6.54, O/U: 37.5 Arizona Cardinals (Head Coach Bruce Arians): The Cardinals opened the season strong at 9-1 before injuries to key players like QB Carson Palmer started to take its toll. At less than full-strength, they went 2-4 over the last six games to finish a solid season at 11-5. In the process, They qualified for the playoffs for the first time since 2009. After starting QB Carson Palmer went down with a season-ending knee injury in week 7, Drew Stanton stepped in and played well enough to accumulate a team-high 1,711 TDs to go with 7 TDs before he too went down with an injury in week 15. He was promptly replaced by Ryan Lindley who struggled over the last three games. Without any stars on offense, the Cardinals had to depends on a strong defense (18.7 PPG and 5 defensive TDs) and an offense that made the most of its opportunities. Heading into this game, the Cardinals and its fans are hopeful that Stanton will get the green light to play. Arizona is 10-1 ATS versus poor defensive teams – allowing >=5.65 yards/play over the last 2 seasons. Arizona is 11-2 ATS when playing with 6 or less days rest this season. Baltimore Ravens vs Pittsburgh Steelers AFC Wildcard Odds Betting Preview January 3, 2015

No. 6 Baltimore Ravens (10-6) at No. 3 Pittsburgh Steelers (11-5) – Heinz Field in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania Saturday, January 3, 2015 @ 8:15 PM EST (NBC) Baltimore Ravens (Head Coach John Harbaugh): With both of these teams coming out of arguably the league's strongest division, these old rivals will face-off in a winner-takes-all match-up. Both teams were able to defend its home field against the other team during the regular season, which indicates the Ravens are going to have to step up its game to beat a Steelers team that plays well at home. The Ravens were possibly the most consistent team in the league on both sides of the ball. The offense finished eighth in the league in scoring at 25.6 PPG while the defense was the sixth best scoring defense at 18.9 PPG. The offense was led by QB Joe Flacco who passed for 3,986 yards and 27 TDs with only 12 INTs in yet another fine season. His favorite target was veteran Steve Smith Sr. with 1,065 yards receiving and 6 TDs. In the backfield, the Ravens found a star in RB Justin Forsett who rushed for 1,266 yards (#5 in the NFL) and 8 TDs. Baltimore is 12-4 ATS last 16 vs. a team with a winning record.  The Ravens are 9-3 OVER in games played on grass their last 12. Pittsburgh Steelers (Head Coach Mike Tomlin): At times during the season, the Steelers looked unbeatable. Other times, they looked horrible, especially in the four losses that came against teams that failed to qualify for the playoffs. In fact, the Steelers' only loss to a...

NFL Betting Odds: St. Louis Rams at Seattle Seahawks 12-28-2014

St. Louis Rams (6-9) at Seattle Seahawks 11-4) – Century Link Field in Seattle, Washington Sunday, December 28, 2014 @ 4:25 PM EST (FOX) Current Line: Seattle -12.5, O/U: 41.0 St. Louis Rams (Head Coach Jeff Fisher): It would seem that any hopes the Rams had at the beginning of the season were quickly squelched with a pre-season, season-ending injury to starting QB Sam Bradford. The injury left the Rams struggling all season to generate offense, though they have played a bit better in the past 4-5 weeks. In this game, they are looking to play the role of spoiler against a team looking to secure the NFC's #1 seed. It's hard to find a bright spot on this team's offense. The QB duties were split during the season between two QBs, Shaun Hill (1,414 yards, 8 TDs) and Austin Davis (2,001 yards, 12 TDs), both of whom gave the best they had to offer. The biggest issue for the Rams on both sides of the ball is the lack of a real superstar who has the ability to put a team on his back and carry them through an entire season. At the end of this season, the team is going to have to start making the right moves to become more competitive in a tough conference Seattle Seahawks (Head Coach Pete Carroll): The defending Super Bowl Champs enter this game with a chance to secure the #1 seed in the NFL on its quest for back-to-back championships. The team will never set the world on fire with it's offense, but the defense again ranks #1 in the...

NFL Free Picks: San Diego Chargers at Kansas City Chiefs 12-28-14

San Diego Chargers (9-6) at Kansas City Chiefs (8-7) – Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri Sunday, December 28, 2014 @ 1:00 PM EST (CBS) Current Line: Kansas City -3, O/U: 42.0 San Diego Chargers (Head Coach Mike McCoy): Even with a strong 9-6 record, the Chargers find themselves in a must win situation as do the Chiefs. After starting off the season with a 5-1 record, the Chargers has become a team that looks great at times while also struggling against some of the better teams. In week 7, the Chargers loss a narrow one at home against this same Chiefs team. In the 11th year of his amazing career, QB Philip Rivers continues to be the backbone of the Chargers' offense. This year, he has been on target all year, compiling 3,995 yards and 31 TDs. An early season injury to starting RB Ryan Matthews left the Charges void any meaningful rushing attack, putting more pressure on Rivers to perform well. With four receivers gaining 683 yards or more, the passing attack has been handled by committee with future Hall-of-Famer TE Antonio Gates leading the team with 12 TDs. San Diego is 24-9 ATS in road games vs. good passing teams with a completion pct. of 61% or better in the second half of the season since 1992.  The Chargers are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games after allowing more than 30 points in their previous game. Kansas City Chiefs (Head Coach Andy Reid): By mid-season, the Chiefs were running amok and looking like a sure-fire playoff team. However, they have lost four of its last...

NFL Free Picks: Carolina Panthers at Atlanta Falcons 12-28-2014

Carolina Panthers (6-8-1) at Atlanta Falcons (6-9) – Georgia Dome in Atlanta, Georgia Sunday, December 28, 2014 @ 1:00 PM EST (FOX) Current Line: Atlanta -4, O/U: 47.5 Carolina Panthers (Head Coach Ron Rivera): It's hard to imagine, but the Panthers are playing for a division title and first round home-field advantage with only 6 wins on the season. In week 11, the Panthers suffered a 2-point loss to these Atlanta Falcons at home and will be looking to turn the tables as they play for its playoff lives. With less than three touchdowns per game, the Panthers offense ranks among the worse in the NFL. After starting of his career with two amazing seasons, former Heisman Trophy winner and #1 pick QB Cam Newton has struggle the past two seasons. This year, he has passed for only 3,013 yards and 17 TDs. Unfortunately, his running stats are way down and he has turned the ball over 17 times this season. Another problem for the Panthers has been the inability to keep its running backs healthy. The team's leading rushed is veteran Jonathan Stewart with 760 yards and only 3 TDs. The one bright spot for the offense has been the play of TE Greg Olsen has grabbed 82 passes for 981 yards and 9 TDs. The Panthers are 10-4 ATS in their last 14 games after allowing less than 150 yards passing in their previous game and are 24-11-1 ATS in their last 36 games in December.  Carolina is 8-0 OVER in road games after 1 or more consecutive losses against the spread over the last 3 seasons....
