Ohio State Preview Ohio State’s overall record is 17-4, Big Ten record is 7-2, ATS overall is 11-7-1, ATS home is 7-4, and ATS away is 3-2-1. Ohio State is unexpectedly having a very good year also. They were thought to be a sure lock for a NCAA tournament bid, but not necessarily the 10th rated team in the nation, where they now stand. Ohio State is lead by Deshaun Thomas, a 6’-7” forward that likes to shoot the ball every time he touches it. He averages 20 points and six rebounds a game. They also have Aaron Craft, a 6’-2” point guard that is tough as nails and a great defender. He averages 9 points and 5 assist a game. Their second leading scorer is a kid named Lenzelle Smith, Jr., who is a 6’-4” wing guard that averages 10 points and 5 rebounds a game. They play an eight man rotation, which each player averaging at least 16 minutes a game. Their four losses have been to Duke, Kansas, Illinois, and Michigan State, which is not too shabby. In addition, they beat Michigan at their place earlier in the season. Michigan Preview Michigan’s overall record is 20-2, Big Ten record is 7-2, ATS overall is 12-7-1, ATS home is 6-4-1, and ATS away is 3-3. Michigan went to Indiana for their last game rated number one in the nation, and they lost 81 to 73. Both Indiana and Michigan are having...

Texas vs West Virginia – College Basketball Odds

Texas vs West Virginia – College Basketball Odds Texas travels to West Virginia on February 4th, 2013.  The game is scheduled to tip-off at 9:00 pm est on ESPN. The oddsmakers have made West Virginia a 5 point favorite in this Big 12 showdown. Texas Preview Texas’s overall record is 10-11, Big 12 record is 2-6, ATS overall is 10-8, ATS home is 5-4, and ATS away is 3-2. Rick Barnes, Texas’s head coach is a well respected high level recruiter, and a very average on the floor basketball coach. He has been a head Division I coach for 26 years. Prior to arriving at Texas, he coached at George Mason, Providence, and Clemson. He too has only had one losing season as a head coach. Texas won its last game against a very weak TCU team that has not won a conference game all season. Their only other conference win was against Texas Tech, who has exactly two conference wins this year. Their first three leading scorers are all guards, which is one of the big reasons that this team is having such a bad year. They are lead by Sheldon McClellan, a 6’-4” wing guard that is averaging 15 points and 4 rebounds a game. Julien Lewis is a 6’-3” wing that averages 11 points and 3 boards a game. Javan Felix is their 5’10” point guard that averages 8 points and 5 assist a game. West Virginia Preview West Virginia’s overall record is 10-11, Big 12 record is 3-5, ATS overall is 7-10-2, ATS home is 2-4-1, and ATS away is 3-4. Both of these teams...

Syracuse vs Pittsburgh – College Basketball Free Pick

Syracuse vs Pittsburgh – College Basketball Free Pick Saturday, February 2, 2013 Syracuse travels to Pittsburgh  Saturday, February 2nd, 2013.  The game is scheduled to tip-off at 12:00 pm est on ESPN. The oddsmakers have made Pittsburgh a 3 point favorite in this huge Big East showdown. Syracuse Preview Syracuse’s overall record is 18-2, Big East record is 6-1, ATS overall is 10-6, ATS home is 6-3, and ATS away is 3-2. Syracuse  was upset in their last outing by Villanova and is still without the services of James Southerland. Syracuse does not play away from their place too often, except for conference games. In fact, before those games started, they only went on the road twice to San Diego State (which was a neutral site) and Arkansas. They will be without their sixth man 6’-8” James Southerland for at leats two more games because of violating team rules. In addition, DaJuan Coleman who was their freshman starting center will be out at least one month with an injured knee. Jerami Grant, a 6’-8” freshman big man from DeMatha Catholic High School who had been filling in for James Southerland, will now get even more playing time.  Up till now, he has played quite admirably. But, any college team that loses two of their most important big men is going to be in trouble, and Syracuse will be no different. Even though Syracuse is rated 6th in the nation, this one is going to be tough. They are going on the road and playing in front of a packed house without two of their best big men, against a...

Arizona vs Washington – College Basketball Odds

Arizona vs Washington – College Basketball Odds Thursday, January 31, 2013 Arizona travels to Washington Thursday, January 31st.  The game is scheduled to tip-off at 9:00 pm est on ESPN. The oddsmakers have made Arizona a 6 point favorite in this tough Pac-12 Conference showdown. Arizona Preview Arizona’s overall record is 17-2, Pac-12 record is 5-2, ATS overall is 9-8, ATS home is 5-4, and ATS away is 3-2. Arizona is having a real good year and they are rated 8th in the nation right now. They have two super impressive wins this year against University of Miami and Florida. If the season ended today, both of those teams would receive number 2 or 3 seeds in the NCAA tournament. Arizona’s two losses where to UCLA at home and conference leading Oregon, on the road. Losing to UCLA did not shock any of the experts, since both of these teams are considered legit final four contenders. Oregon was undefeated in conference play (before losing last night) and they have also beaten UCLA, so maybe losing to them at their place was not as bad as it initially looked; only time will tell. This Arizona team is very talented, but whether they have enough to win it all, is doubtful. What isn’t doubtful is that they have way more talent than Washington, and should easily win this game. But, all conference games are tough, and the ones on the road are especially difficult. Arizona has way too much talent for Washington, and they just need to show up and play their normal game to come away with a victory. This...

New Mexico vs Wyoming – College Basketball Odds

New Mexico vs Wyoming – College Basketball Odds Wednesday, January 30, 2013 New Mexico travels to Wyoming Wednesday January 30th.  The game is scheduled to tip-off at 9:00 pm est and the oddsmakers have made New Mexico a 1 point favorite in this tough Mountain West Conference showdown. New Mexico Preview New Mexico’s overall record is 17-3, Mountain West record is 4-1, ATS overall is 10-8-1, ATS home is 5-5-1, and ATS away is 4-2. New Mexico lost their last game to San Diego State 55-34. Seriously, how the hell do you manage to only score 34 points in a college basketball game? As we have mentioned in other articles, New Mexico just was not ready to play this game emotionally, and their performance proved that point all too well. New Mexico has three real goods wins on their resume this season. They beat Connecticut on the road, they took down Cincinnati at their place, and they also beat UNLV at home. They are lead by Alex Kirk, who is a 7’0”, 250 pound center that averages 11 points and 8 boards a game. Their leading scorer is a kid named Kendall Williams, who is a 6’-4” wing guard that averages 14 points and 4 rebounds a game. Tony Snell is a 6’-7” three man that averages 12 points and 2 rebounds a game. Cameron Bairstow is a 6’-9” power forward that averages 7 points and 5 rebounds a game. Although this team has fairly good size, if you look at their stats, they are not a very good rebounding team which will eventually come back to hurt them...
